River nile
The fertile Nile delta is a wondorous place to look for design inspiration. For thousands of years, the river Nile turned desert to lush farmland, feeding and nuturing the people of the region, supporting them with sustenence and security as they created the world's most enduring works of art. The mosaic-like elements in these carpets are among the most ancient rug motifs surviving to the present day. The new expression of these motifs comes with a skillful manipulation of color; pastel golds, peach and rose tones, khaki, greens, pale blue and black are united with a hand-spun texture that is uniquely suited to the tender patterns.
